Please join us to celebrate the memory of Carl Olson and show your support of junior cross country skiing in the Keweenaw. Carl's spirit of adventure and love of the outdoors lives on in this annual celebration. The event is run by the Copper Country Ski Tigers to benefit the Middle School and High School Racing Program.

The Chassell Ski Trails We will start at the trail access point on Archambeau Road (see map). This is the same location as high school cross country meet starts.
Take Chassell-Painesdale Road about one mile west from US-41 or one-half mile east from Paradise Road. You'll see signs for Archambeau Raod. We're using the upper loop for a kinder, gentler 5km course; and both the upper and lower loops for a challenging 8km course.
Register by August 7 to guarantee yourself an apparel item and save three bucks. Use active.com or download the brochure/form and register by mail. Day-of-race registration also available.

The Course
All events are set on the scenic Chassell Cross Country Ski Trails. The trails wind through mixed forest and open fields providing ample overtaking opportunities. The European design provides varying terrain in a beautiful Nordic setting with no road crossings. The tread consists of dirt and field grass with areas of exposed roots and rocks.
Proceeds
All proceeds from the Carl Olson Memorial Adventure run go to the Copper Country Ski Tigers middle school and high school racing program to help offset expenses for equipment and travel.
Carl Olson
Carl Olson was an avid runner and cross country skier. When he was running, he preferred the trails - the more adventuresome the better. His life was cut short by a heart attack -- his family has a history of high cholesterol and heart problems. This race was formed as a way to commemorate Carl's love for running and skiing, and his love of the outdoors; in the hopes of encouraging people to live an active life.
